Journey to Atlantis ombines a high-speed water ride and a roller coaster with cool special effects. There are frequent turns, twists, and shallow dives during the 6 minute ride, but the most spectacular plunges are the first few, which send you almost 60-feet into the main harbour and the 60-foot final drop.
The lost continent of Atlantis has risen in the harbour of a small Greek fishing village, and you board an old-looking, rickety Greek fishing boat to explore it. As you begin your voyage an ominous current pulls at your boat. Then an old fisherman offers a golden sea horse (actually Hermes—the messenger of the gods—in disguise!) to protect you from the evil Sirens. The wild, watery battle between Hermes and Allura queen of the Sirens is all just an excuse to show off the effects using liquid crystal display technology, lasers and holographic illusions.
Large.
At busy times head for here first thing or about an hour before closing; going at night is definitely worthwhile, and if there is a queue it will be cooler. Plan on getting soaked!
Older children and adults; definitely not for the faint of heart or for anyone with a fear of the dark or enclosed spaces.
