Downtown
Disney is Disney's 120 acre answer to night-time entertainment
for older visitors - plus daytime shopping, dining and
fun for families of all ages.
Downtown
Disney consists of three distinct districts
T he
first is the original Disney
Village Marketplace. This area consists of the marina
and several shops. The largest Disney store in the world,
The World of Disney, is located here.
Next
to the Marketplace is Pleasure
Island and by day this section is a busy shopping center
with lots to see and do (we particularly recommend dining
at Fulton's Crab House).
At
night Pleasure Island's several nightclubs open appealing
to various music and comedy tastes.
The
third section is the Downtown
Disney West Side. This is the newest section
and consists of several restaurants, shops, DisneyQuest,
a 24 theatre movie
complex, and Cirque
du Soleil.
Shops are open from 9:00am through 11:00pm. Entertainment
and restaurants open later (see individual pages for more
information).
Follow the Highway 192 as far as Disney World Drive and
then follow the signposts for Downtown Disney.
Parking is free at all Downtown Disney areas. However,
the car parks around Downtown Disney Westside and Pleasure
Island are particularly busy at night, and you may wish
to take advantage of the valet parking facility at each
area (it's worth the money to save your legs!).
