A
mixture of blues legends and fantastical voodoo. Busts of
bluesmen come and gone hang overhead. Southern folk art
covers nearly every inch of the place. It feels like a world
away from the Disney fluff outside.
The
baby back ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and turnip greens
are finger-lickin' good; the decadently sweet bread pudding
comes soaked in a whiskey sauce. A children's menu offers
staples like grilled cheese sandwiches and hamburgers.
The
establishment's breakout experience is the Sunday Gospel
Brunch, which features 45 minutes of rafter-raising hymns
and a vast menu (omelet stations, peel-and-eat shrimp, croissants,
fruit, etc.) served buffet-style.
Nominated
